Nanomaterial SWIR Image Sensors
TechnologyBreakdown
Iris Light’s nanomaterial SWIR image sensors enable high-performance imaging from the visible (VIS) through the short-wave infrared (SWIR) and into the extended SWIR (E-SWIR) spectrum. Built with a black phosphorus-based nanomaterial absorber, these sensors provide broad spectral coverage, high sensitivity, and fast response — all while operating efficiently at room temperature, eliminating the need for costly cooling systems.
Engineered for scalability, our sensors are manufactured using CMOS-compatible, wafer-scale processes, allowing seamless integration into existing semiconductor workflows and enabling high-volume production. This approach delivers unprecedented performance and manufacturability compared to traditional infrared materials.
By combining non-toxic materials, wide spectral reach, and scalable manufacturing, Iris Light is pioneering a new class of SWIR imagers for next-generation applications — from machine vision and autonomous vehicles to medical diagnostics, environmental monitoring, and defense sensing.
