Iris Light, Argonne National Lab and others were invited to meet with U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright in July. Chad Husko, CEO and founder of Iris Light, presented on behalf of Iris Light and Argonne, highlighting the company’s work in advanced nanomaterials and scalable photonic technologies.

The discussion focused on the future of energy, advanced manufacturing, and the role of national laboratories in translating breakthrough research into real-world impact. As an Argonne and Northwestern University spinout supported through the Department of Energy’s Chain Reaction Innovations program, Iris Light’s work closely aligns with DOE priorities around innovation, domestic manufacturing leadership, and next-generation technologies.

Engagements like this underscore the importance of collaboration between government, national labs, and early-stage companies working to commercialize foundational science. Iris Light values the opportunity to contribute to these conversations and looks forward to continuing its work alongside Argonne and the broader DOE ecosystem.
